To support Mental Health Awareness Week, Counselling Directory have launched a campaign designed to raise awareness and further the public’s understanding of mental health.
About the campaign
Who: This campaign is aimed towards the general public.
What: Counselling Directory looks to offer advice to improve mental health, self-care and general well-being. We will look into areas of our lives that affect mental health, how we can support ourselves and when to get professional support. We want to call attention to the fact that everyone has something they want to change in their life.
When: Mental Health Awareness Week 8th-12th May.
Why: We created these resources to raise awareness of self-care and highlight the importance of looking after our own well-being.
The following content is available for editorial use and reprint with credit to Counselling Directory and link to www.counselling-directory.org.uk where applicable. Please send an email to email@example.com to advise of content use.
We have several self-help supporting resources, including a brand new self-care page with downloadable PDFs explaining the importance of self-care, and tips to introduce this into daily life.
We’ve also created an article based on our own survey results, where we asked people if they felt they were ‘thriving’ or ‘surviving’.
We have also produced a video capturing three people’s responses to the question: “If you could change one thing about yourself to improve your well-being, what would it be?”.
Self-care is the act of caring for yourself and making a conscious effort to do things you enjoy and will benefit from, in order to improve mental and physical well-being. It’s about being aware of your own health, identifying your own needs and taking steps to meet them.
